Dog Boarding in Berkeley

Danielle and Joel took excellent care of our dog Cooper while we were away for the weekend. They took him on long walks and played games with him, which he loved! We received multiple photos and videos throughout the weekend. We could relax and enjoy our trip knowing that Cooper was well cared for. We would 100% board Cooper with Danielle again.

Lulu had the time of her life staying with Robert and Brian. They were very communicative, sending pictures of Lulu enjoying her stay and getting lots of love. They were clearly very attentive to her needs and really enjoyed having her. Lulu will be thrilled when she gets to visit them again!

Mariola's the best. Can't recommend her highly enough. Took wonderful care of our old girl while we were gone. Sent daily updates with photos.

Karen and Hisako were the absolute best dog sitters for Augustus, my basset hound! It was so obvious from their updates that they were loving hosting him and enjoying daily adventures together. I think all pet owners love to feel that their furry friends are in a loving home while theyre travelling, and with Karen and Hisako, you definitely get that assurance. Augustus already misses his "Japanese aunties!"

I had a weekend trip planned and sadly family and friends couldn't sit Aggie, though was recommended by a friend to try Rover. So with about a week before the trip, I wanted to find a neighbor that was communicative, responsive, had and has current experience with dogs, and is familiar with dog sitting. On a brief search, I found Marlene and Marlene's mom with lots of positive reviews and close by to me! I reached out, checked in a bit, and made arrangements for a pre-dog sit meeting for everyone to meet one another which gave me peace of mind. Marlene was responsive, communicative, and thoughtful. I appreciated the photos Marlene sent me during the weekend. Aggie's an older foster dog, and Marlene was quick to share some questions and concerns which we were able to figure out together on a brief phone call which I really appreciated. I'm new to Rover, and our conversation helped me to be communicative about Aggie's conditions as an elder dog, reassure Marlene, and to update Aggie's profile. I was happy to see Aggie when I picked her up and Marlene and Marlene's mom were very kind, thoughtful, and open about sharing the latest of Aggie's conditions. If you're in the east bay/Berkeley/Oakland/Emeryville area, I recommend Marlene and Marlene's mom!!

Luna is a wonderful dog sitter! Cosmo, my dog was thrilled and happy to have stayed with her and her lovely dog, Jim! Jim was also the perfect fur host, showing Cosmo where they should play and that it was okay to run around and play together. Luna has a large and lovely yard and Cosmo enjoyed the serenity of the yard and home. Cosmo can be shy and aloof, and he does not react well to negative energy. But, he warmed up to Luna because of her thoughtful and positive approach to care giving. I trusted her to take good care of him. And, she did! Cosmo can be a velcro dog as he is with us practically 24/7, so it eased our anxiety to know that she was there for him. Thank you Luna for taking good care of Cosmo. Much aloha, Diane and Philip G.

Karen is amazing!!! I never worry about anything when my pup stays at their place. Maya always has soo much fun, is well exercised/played with, and is so calm and relaxed when I pick her up. Highly recommend!

Kianna and her family took great care of Zoey in their home. Kianna sent updates and photos daily, so I knew that Zoey was having a good time whether she was playing at the park or snoozing in the sun. I would definitely board Zoey with Kianna again.

We have a 12 year old Maltese mix (or that's our best guess) rescue. He is sweet, sensitive and shy and we've had the same dog sitter for almost 7 years. Over the Thanksgiving holiday we had a scheduling challenge and turned to Rover to find a dog sitter. We found Eiko and I cannot say enough good things about how this all worked out. She has a warm and inviting home and took outstanding care of our dog. She provided great updates throughout the time he was with her and is very comfortable with older dogs.

Wow! What a great stay my dog had with Lisa and Andy. Their communication and photos, which were amazing, was fabulous. I will definitely use Lisa and Andy whenever I plan on traveling. Their yard and daily off leash walks kept my dog happy and content.

Matthew and Van Joseph were excellent! This was my first time using Rover and I couldn’t have been happier with the care they gave my pups. I received regular updates, photos, and videos on how things were going. It was as if they were staying with close friends. I truly appreciate them.

Mary is hands down the best dogsitter we’ve ever had. She’s just so kind and thoughtful, and treats our dog as if he was her own! Our pup has some special needs (tube fed!) that make him quite challenging to care for, despite his sweet demeanor, and she handles it all with grace. She’s super communicative, asks all the right questions, sends adorable pics, and is just downright understanding of our tough situation. You’re making a mistake if you don’t book her!!

I’ve sent my Max to two different kennels and he always comes back so sad, to the point that he doesn’t respond to us petting him. I wanted to try something more personable so I tried Rover. Maria was great and sent me photos and updates of Max during his stay. She noticed he wasn’t eating and made him special food for him with my permission of course. He came back so happy this time! He literally was smiling and happy to see us. One of her neighbors stopped my husband on the way out to tell him how much all the other neighbors liked Max. I’m sure they met him several times during his walks with Maria. I would highly recommend her!

Madeleine was amazing! After our initial meet & greet I knew that our dog, Peanut, would be in great hands. Madeleine went above and beyond to make our somewhat anxious dog feel comfortable and safe. We received daily photos/messages which was a nice additional assurance that all was well. Peanut was happy upon pick-up, not just to see us but generally healthy and happy. No transition issues at all. We are so grateful!

I used Tyler to look after my Rhodesian ridgeback for over a week while I was traveling overseas. All went well and I was kept up to date on my dog's activities. I would definitely use Tyler again.

Pat and Tim took really great care of our dog Bailey! She got sick while we were away but they took great care of her and sent us detailed updates so we didn't worry. She got plenty of walks and clearly misses them and Coco!

Isaac and Jordan are the perfect sitters! They took amazing care of my dog and kept me updated with pictures. My little guy has anxiety and he was met with lots of love and extra cuddles. I came home to a well-cared-for, relaxed dog, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the excellent service.
