Dog Boarding in Canaan

My boys had a one day sleep over last night. I felt very comfortable with John and his wife. I can see they are animal lovers and my boys are in good hands. I did not worry one bit. Pictures were sent throughout the day which gave me peace of mind and communication via text was appreciated. Looking forward to June vacation and knowing by two bostons will be well cared for and in a safe space. Thankyou!!!

Our dog Max had a great time with Peter and Monique. They were kind and took him for walks and offered plenty of lap time to keep him happy while we were gone.

Kristina and Jordan are a DREAM. We have the most high maintenance senior pup, and they took such amazing care of him, catering to his every need and ridiculous whim. I’ve never felt more comfortable leaving him with anyone before. They went above and beyond at every turn! The consistent communication and pictures were the cherry on top. I’m so grateful to them and would recommend them to anyone who wants the best care for their pup. Dog people to their core, and they will love yours as much as you do.

Mary Ann is simply the best! This was our second time boarding with Mary Ann and the peace of mind we felt knowing our dog was so well cared for was priceless. We were able to enjoy our vacation thanks to the knowledge that our elderly blind and diabetic dog was in incredible hands. Thank you!!

My girl Josie absolutely loves staying with Nicole and her family. She gets lots of love and attention, and Nicole is great about sending updates @ pics! Highly recommend her to care for your furry companion!

Angela is such a lovely person! Cares for our Pluto like her own. 🤗💞 so happy to have found her and her caring home for our furry baby! I get constant updates and pictures of Pluto having fun at their home and yard. He runs to Angela when dropping him off and that tells a lot! ❣️ Highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for care in a setting where every pet is important and loved!

Lynette took excellent care of both our pups while we were away! She was very thoughtful and sent updates and pictures every day. She was very communicative and planning went smoothly. We would definitely entrust our pups with her and her family again!

Maggie was absolutely wonderful to work with! My dog, Bruce, is very shy and suffers from anxiety so Maggie let me go meet her even before I decided to book her so we could both make sure Bruce was comfortable at her home. As soon as I met her, her calm and patient demeanor really impressed me and Bruce liked her right away so we booked her services. Throughout Bruce’s stay at Maggie’s place, she kept me updated on how Bruce was doing and sent me several photos to ensure we knew he was doing great. I really appreciated this because this was the first time Bruce spent a couple of nights without me and my partner, so all her updates were so helpful and reassuring. I will 100% book her again and highly recommend her services!!

James and his family are great sitters! My pup Remington had a great time. James sent photos and updates whe. Requested and his kids spent time playing and taking Remi for walks.

Robyn and Dave are very knowledgeable with taking care of dogs. This was our first experience leaving our 1 1/2 puppy with someone other than family. Frankie felt right at home and we felt comfortable leaving him. We highly recommend Robyn and Dave. Thank you for all the pictures and videos :)

Mary and Todd took wonderful care of Darcy! They took him on the long walks he needs and sent me plenty of updates and pictures. I'll definitely contact them again if I need a sitter!

Ben and Kim took such great care of our dog. They sent numerous photos and updates through out the day, were super responsive, and made sure our dog was happy and comfortable her entire stay. When it was time to go home, our dog gave Kim lots of kisses and I instantly knew how happy she had been on the farm.

This is the second time Katie has watched our dog Bailey, and it was great knowing that she was in such competent hands! Katie is able to watch multiple dogs at a time, and it seems like Bailey really enjoyed the fun playtime with the other dogs. Katie‘s home is comfortable and welcoming for people and animals. Katie is very responsive to questions and texts, and her love of the animals is obvious. It’s no surprise she’s so popular with her clients. Highly recommend!

Franny was the best dog sitter! My Bailey was so well taken care of and I feel very comfortable bringing him back again. He definitely had a great time.

Karina was wonderful. easy to book and easy to communicate with. very responsible. She updated me throughout the time she had my dog and send pics, which meant so much to me. I would definitely recommend, and would use her services again!! 10/10!

I have boarded my dogs with her for years- despite having to travel over an hour to drop them off. This is not because she's my mother, but because she is so great with dogs! I have lived out of state and had to search for good boarding for my previous foster dog, who had serious separation anxiety, so I know it's hard to find good boarding! She works from home, so she is always near the phone and computer to respond to boarding requests. Her property is perfect for romping and she even has a fenced in area for them to play worry free! If I had to sum it up, I'd say Archer had a great stay at Animal Fare's Almost Home Dog Care! What a great idea instead of boarding your dog at the cold, lonely vet's office, or in a mass room of crates, only to be taken out to use the potty. I am a VERY picky, strict pet Momma...She complied with my requests and is always so accommodating. Once you meet her and see her interaction with your dog (and her dogs) you will have no doubts about her talent and knowledge with dog handling. Cindy's house is set back from the road, which makes my worries about accidents much less. There is a large, grassy, fenced in area (the fence is over 5' high) where Archer can romp to his heart's desire, without worry about cars, or getting lost in a new place. The wrap around deck is also gated off, for play time close to the house. Reports are that Archer played a lot! I can tell, he's pooped! (A working Momma loves a pooped Pooch!). This was also a wonderful option because Archer's routine can sometimes be more in depth than others. I feed raw and give vitamins and supplements with every meal. As someone who has a vast amount of knowledge on dog nutrition, Cindy had no problem meeting our special feeding requests. Archer ate his normal raw food and got all of his supplements with no hitches! (She is also a retailer for BRAVO raw diet, so she totally understood Mommas can be "picky" about their Pup's food!). Archer slept in a crate while at Animal Fare and Cindy took him out just before bed and first thing in the morning, just like Momma does! Cindy also offered training and nail filing (with the necessary training) for an additional fee- a two for one! Thank you DogVacay!-Lena

Christine was great! This was my first time using Rover.com and it was a very good experience. Christine was super nice and I felt very comfortable leaving my 1 year old goldendoodle with her. I also greatly appreciated the picture she sent of him and his new friend.
