House Sitting in Manchester-by-the-Sea

Sophia deserves all of her excellent reviews and ratings. She took care of my two cats for a week. One is fairly social but one is very afraid of strangers. It took a couple of days for her to coax the more timid one to come fully out from hiding and relax but she succeeded and the week was was wonderful. She was also very kind about feeding my outdoor "critters" including birds, wild turkeys and squirrels. I highly recommend Sophia for any type of care. if you are considering house sitter, she is wonderful.

Jesse watched our two dogs at our home over a long weekend. He did a great job! We felt very comfortable leaving our quirky dogs with him. He was communicative and took excellent care of them. Our house was in good hands too. It was perfectly neat and clean when we returned home. We appreciate Jesse and the dogs loved him. We would be happy to book with Jesse again!

Wiktoria and her husband stayed in our home with our dog, Millie, for seven nights. Overall, Millie was well cared for and happy. They were also very flexible in extending their stay when our travel was disrupted, which we truly appreciated. We did have a few areas that didn’t fully meet our expectations. Millie was only taken on two walks during their stay, despite our request for daily walks or outings (even short car rides). We understand February weather in Massachusetts can be challenging, especially with a snowstorm during their visit, but we were hoping for a bit more activity. On the first day, Millie was left alone for over nine hours without prior discussion. While she can handle being alone for up to eight hours, we had emphasized that she typically spends very little time alone, and we had chosen Wiktoria based on her open availability. Thankfully, once we raised this concern, it didn’t happen again. Communication was limited — we received only a few pictures and updates, usually after we reached out first. As new users of in-home dog sitting, we realize we might have needed to be clearer about wanting daily check-ins, but it was something we expected based on other reviews. During their stay, Wiktoria let us know about ants appearing in the guest room — unusual for our home and especially for February. We offered our usual treatment suggestions, and although we found a few crumbs on the rug upon returning home, the issue now seems resolved. Overall, while Millie was safe and content, the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations given Wiktoria’s strong reviews. It was a helpful learning experience for us as first-time Rover users, and we appreciate the care she provided.

Vanessa is truly remarkable—her reliability shines through, and she left my house spotless. Most importantly, she has a special ability to connect with my anxious, shy dog, who adores her.

Jillian took great care of our Bart and Bev! We could really tell from the pictures and daily updates that they warmed up to her and enjoyed her company. We felt totally comfortable with her in our home and appreciated how clean and tidy she left our apartment! Thank you Jillian!

Jennifer was great and took our dog on field trips and adventures. We will definitely use her again.

Katie was wonderful! I could tell my pup was comfortable with her right away and that put my mind at ease. Will definitely have her watch Marcel again.

Sophie provided regular updates about our pets (dog and cats) as well as many pics of them in our home. Of course, she also took great care of them and followed our detailed instructions. We returned home to happy and healthy pets!

Meredith took care of my two dogs over the 4th of July weekend - always stressful due to fireworks. Her communication was good when the power went out due to a big thunderstorm in the area. Glad she was there to watch out over my nervous pups. House was clean when I got home.

We enjoyed having Sharon stay overnight with our dog and cat while we were away. We came home to two happy animals and she was very respectful of our home. Thank you Sharon for loving on our two boys!!

Matt is so great. My dog, Gracie loved him so much. Definitely will have him watch her again.

Teri took excellent care of our spicy terrier! She is very communicative, reliable, and kind to my dog. I appreciate her skills as a trainer and willingness to learn what works best for my dog. We will ask Teri to sit again. Thank you ♥️

Ida is a true dog lover and my elder dog was so lucky to have Ida stay with her. My dog loved Ida from the moment she met her at our meet & greet, I couldn’t recommend Ida more as a pet sitter!
