House Sitting in Scappoose

Our dog, Smudge, has epilepsy. Her seizures do not stop on their own. During our recent trip, Smudge had a seizure while staying with David, who FaceTimed me after giving her her first dose of seizure med; her seizure had stopped, and he was checking in with me to let me know what happened. We both watched as Smudge started to seize again, and David calmly set down the phone, went through the steps of drawing up Smudge’s medication, and administered it again. Let me tell you- there is nothing that will test your faith in your choice of dog sitter as much as watching them act in a crisis where you, the owner, are completely helpless. I had never been so glad to have booked a a particular dog sitter in my life. As her seizure lingered, David ended up calmly driving Smudge to the emergency vet, and she stopped seizing en route (likely because of the second dose of meds) and was able to return home to his completely capable hands. We’ve never had to have a sitter administer seizure meds to Smudge before, but this has been a life lesson. We won’t need to endlessly search Rover for the the right dog sitter ever again- we trust David.

Natasha is a great person, very down to earth...and an amazing house sitter! She took care of our dogs (and bird) for 10 days. We have a nice home and it was as clean, if not cleaner, than we had left it! The pets were well taken care of, she sent pix and kept communication up with us while we were gone. We highly recommend Natasha!!!

Carmella is a dream to work with. She is responsive, communicative, and thoughtful. She kept us updated throughout our trip and when we returned home we could tell that she had taken excellent care of not only our animals, but our home. We would gladly have her care for our animals again.

Karl was amazing!! We had to find a sitter on short notice right before Christmas for our two dogs (aka the crazies) and cat and he was super helpful and responsive. The dogs bonded with him even during the meet and greet and Karl did amazing things with all three during his 10 days at the house. He did a lot of training and even somehow found ways to have the 16yo cat hang out with two young, energetic, 70# dogs that clearly don’t mirror the same chill approach to life as a senior cat. We got updates multiple times a day with pictures, videos, texts. As he stayed in our house in the rainy season I told him not to worry too much about the mud the dogs would bring in from the backyard - the house was spotless when we came back, bedsheets were washed and folded. We’re really happy with Karl, will definitely reach out again for the next trip.

Crystal gave our pets and home so much love while we were out of town. Her communication was top notch, the photos that she took captured how much fun our dog and cats were having, and she left the house immaculate. Absolutely would recommend her to anyone looking for peace of mind while away.

Briauna too excellent care of our pooch. Briauna is kind and laid back, a great personality match for our little Dolly. We definitely will ask for her to care for our pet when we travel again to Portland.

Jennifer was a 5-star sitter for my kitty Holly and pup Bella. Holly got lots of attention and Bella got lots of walks. I so appreciated how often she updated us with pics of them both and how well she took care of them both and my home. I would definitely have her come again. I imagine her calendar will be booked up soon, as she is a keeper!

James was really great. He was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Most importantly the dogs seemed to really love him. I couldn’t recommend more!

Danny did a wonderful job of taking care of our pup, Lelo. We were able to enjoy our vacation because we knew she was in good hands. We highly recommend Danny.

Johnny was wonderful! My dogs and home were very well taken care of. I received texts and pictures of Tobi and Kira regularly which assured me that everything was going well. She also took care of my plants, fish and mail which I am very thankful of. The best part besides hugging my doggies when we got back was going home to a pristine house. Johnny will definitely be my first choice moving forward for dog/house sitting needs. A++

Renata was a top quality house and pet sitter. She was communicative, leaving frequent updates. She was *very* tidy, leaving the house for us as clean as we left it for her. We were also delayed getting home and she offered to stay an extra while so our cat wouldn't be alone as long as she otherwise would have. We definitely plan to reach out to her for future excursions. 5 stars all around!

Renee was fantastic with our crazy crew! We have both dogs and cats, and she provided the best care for all of them. We came home to a spotless house and happy pets! We will definitely be asking Renee to sit for us again in the future!

Maria was incredible. Our dog Dillon had the best vacation at home while being sat by Maria! We would recommend her to friends and family! She was respectful of our home, and made sure that our pets were well cared for. She even asked if she could take Dillon on a nature hike with her! He LOVED it! We will definitely think of Maria the next time we have to go out of town!
