Dog Boarding in Oakland

Anthony and Nikita are the best. My dog is skeptical of all adults and they were calm and patient with him and there my dog was cuddling and playing with them. My dog loved playing with their dog. My dog was so cared for by Anthony and Nikita.

Incredibly responsive and take care of Franny as if she were their own. We’re very glad to have people and a place where she can feel comfortable when we’re out of town.

Alex is phenomenal. Incredibly responsive, great at anticipating needs, and cares about pets as if they’re her own. My dog Panda spent a whole week with Alex and it’s the been the only time I’ve traveled since moving to California that Panda looked happy while I’m away. Panda got playtime, cuddles, and good healthy boundaries when she needed it. Will certainly be working with Alex again. Can’t recommend her enough!

Latricia was so kind and really gave Benny lots of personal attention! Benny loved spending time with her and he definitely was spoiled with his own room and lots of treats. He will definitely be back to stay with Latricia!

Mariola's the best. Can't recommend her highly enough. Took wonderful care of our old girl while we were gone. Sent daily updates with photos.

Danielle was an absolute blessing! She goes above and beyond, truly. Sunny was so well cared for and loved. He got dirty and she gave him a bath and sent him home in cutest little bandana she made for him. I can tell Danielle is a natural caregiver and loves animals and treats them with immense respect and care. Thank you so much 🙏❤️

Buster and Junior had day care with Lee recently and this was their first time boarding with her. When she came down the steps to greet them, they were still in the car and started jumping up and down with excitement to see her. She sent photos of them playing with their new friends, and when we picked up they were all packed, leashed and ready to go. We will definitely stay with Lee again!

Albina did a most excellent job with my dog-reactive Cattledog/Pit mix, Sequoia. She was extremely caring, gentle, and kind. Sequoia was immediately at ease with Albina and she did an excellent job accommodating Sequoia's reactivity and providing her with a wonderful stay. One of the best experiences I've had with a sitter on Rover. She sent me wonderful nightly updates about how Sequoia was doing that put me at ease. I can't recommend her highly enough.

I had a weekend trip planned and sadly family and friends couldn't sit Aggie, though was recommended by a friend to try Rover. So with about a week before the trip, I wanted to find a neighbor that was communicative, responsive, had and has current experience with dogs, and is familiar with dog sitting. On a brief search, I found Marlene and Marlene's mom with lots of positive reviews and close by to me! I reached out, checked in a bit, and made arrangements for a pre-dog sit meeting for everyone to meet one another which gave me peace of mind. Marlene was responsive, communicative, and thoughtful. I appreciated the photos Marlene sent me during the weekend. Aggie's an older foster dog, and Marlene was quick to share some questions and concerns which we were able to figure out together on a brief phone call which I really appreciated. I'm new to Rover, and our conversation helped me to be communicative about Aggie's conditions as an elder dog, reassure Marlene, and to update Aggie's profile. I was happy to see Aggie when I picked her up and Marlene and Marlene's mom were very kind, thoughtful, and open about sharing the latest of Aggie's conditions. If you're in the east bay/Berkeley/Oakland/Emeryville area, I recommend Marlene and Marlene's mom!!

Megan and Jenny truly love dogs, and it shows in everything they do! From the very first moment, they treated Maple like one of their own, and it was so comforting to see them think of her right after dropoff (the hardest part for us as pet parents!). Their daily messages, pictures, and videos went beyond just updates, capturing her little quirks, moods, and small moments that make her who she is. It felt like we left her with friends who understood her immediately better than we did! Our pup got plenty of walks, outdoor time in a beautiful backyard, and were attentive to every detail, including when and how to give her treats. She came back calm, happy, and clearly loved and cared for. Megan and Jenny are not only professional and reliable sitters, but also genuinely warm, authentic, and thoughtful people. The care they gave Maple made all the difference, and we couldn’t recommend them enough!

Abigail clearly had a lot of love for dogs and was really willing to follow the guidelines I gave her for caring for my puppy. She sent lots of pictures of her and was very communicative!

Chen is the best rover sitter we have ever had. He sent us the most amazing pictures and videos every day and we can tell he genuinely loves dogs. Our dog usually gets stressed when going to a new house, but he looked so happy and relaxed. I cannot recommend Chen more!

Mary is hands down the best dogsitter we’ve ever had. She’s just so kind and thoughtful, and treats our dog as if he was her own! Our pup has some special needs (tube fed!) that make him quite challenging to care for, despite his sweet demeanor, and she handles it all with grace. She’s super communicative, asks all the right questions, sends adorable pics, and is just downright understanding of our tough situation. You’re making a mistake if you don’t book her!!

Otis is the happiest when he is with Stephanie and her pack. She introduces him to new experiences, which really helps build his confidence. The benefits are endless. He does go through a little bummed out phase after leaving them but perks up in a day or two awaiting his next visit:)
