House Sitting in Starksboro

Elizabeth stayed with my dog Rocky while I was on a fishing trip and did a phenomenal job. She sent updates and verified with me that I would be making it home on the last day of my vacation. I came home to a very happy dog that I know got his exercise everyday I was gone. I highly recommend her for caring for any of your animals.

Liz was an absolute rockstar. Our two dogs are fairly persnickety (one big old mutt and a fat corgi) and she took excellent care of them and our home. We would highly recommend her for any pet services and will be using her for our future pet sitting needs.

Charlotte is amazing. Our pups warmed up to her very quickly and were very well cared for. She also went above and beyond for us when we had travel issues. We will absolutely have her sit for us again and will be recommending her to our friends and neighbors with pets.

Matt does a great job every time he housesits in our home. We come back to calm cats and happy chickens. By the sounds of it, I think one of our cats in particular has been scheming how to make him stay longer, and will probably attempt to hide in his bag the next time around. :)

Kathleen is incredible! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. We had long-standing plans to be out of town for just 24 hrs and then 2 wks before, our house & pup-sitter told us she forgot she’d double-booked and couldn’t do it. We checked River immediately and found Kathy who lives a short distance away. Thankfully she was available and we met a few days later to show her the house and Mac’s normal procedures. We were impressed with her interaction with our little guy; he warmed up to her immediately and she listened to his schedule and quirks, asking useful questions. The next week, we confirmed the day before we left and Kathy arrived at the agreed-on time. She sent a picture of a very happy boy the next morning and was waiting when we got home. She’d already washed the linens and re-made the bed; everything was tidy (perhaps more so than when we left), and she told us how everything had gone. It was ideal; we certainly hope Kathy will return to ensure all’s well in our house again the next time we need to be away!

Shannon took care of Bennie at my home for 2 nights/3 days. Everything went well, she was very responsive. She took him to some nice wooded trails for walks. The house was clean and Bennie was content when I returned. I would definitely have her walk Bennie and/or house sit again.

Janet has been terrific in caring for our rambunctious year old puppy. Wonderful in balancing fun, rest, and discipline. I would hire again in a newyork minute!

Another amazing stay with Kayleigh! She is so good at keeping us up to date with amazing videos and photos. Also left the house spotless.

Laura was amazing with our hound dog. The dog loved her! I could tell when we got back after a week away that the dog was happy, well-exercised and not anxious at all. Laura was so communicative, professional and friendly throughout the whole stay. It was such a relief to know the dog was in good hands. We’d rebook with her again no question!!!

Beatrice was great with our 80lb love bug (Belgian Shepherd / Lab mix). He's a big pup who needs a good amount of play, and she took care of him for 3.5 days, last minute, over the Thanksgiving holiday. We felt comfortable leaving Trooper and our home in her company!

Emmi was a fantastic in-home dog sitter for our golden retriever, Thorbunny! We had lots of pictures and updates, and it was clear our guy was having the time of his life. Emmi was super communicative during our time away, and I can honestly say this was the first time we've had a dog sitter where I didn't worry and could actually relax on vacation. As an added bonus, I came back to a clean and tidy house, not to mention a happy dog! I would definitely (and have already) recommended Emmi as a fantastic pet sitter.

We left our 2.5 year old pitbull rescue pup, Cheeni, in Meghan's care for one week when we went on our first vacation since COVID and longest time away from Cheeni since we adopted her. Cheeni is a particular pup who is most comfortable at home, but also is known for being an escape artist and bolting any chance she gets. Meghan was so knowledgeable about Cheeni's initial nervous and timid behavior and so incredibly patient with her. Meghan took the time for Cheeni to warm up to her and took the most wonderful care of Cheeni while we were away. Meghan asked all the right questions when we met with her and she met Cheeni for the first time and we were immediately impressed with what a dog expert Meghan is. Meghan took wonderful care of Cheeni and our home while we were away for the week. If we hadn't found Meghan, we would not have been able to go on this trip. We are so appreciative of how well Meghan took care of Cheeni and trust her completely. Your pets will be in wonderful care with Meghan! Thank you again for being so great to Cheeni and for all your help this past week, Meghan, you're the best!!

Sophie did a fantastic job caring for our cat and two rather energetic dogs. We came home to a neat and clean home and three well-cared for and happy pets. No notes. You can hire Sophie with complete confidence.
